For most people, latte is simply a drink, a coffee that helps you stay awake and be able to chat with friends. But for bartenders, drinks are the place for them to show off their talent with their skilled hands. While most people like to draw leaves or hearts, Filipino barista Melaquino has another idea - turning lattes into cuter pictures than ever.
Melaquino started making coffee about 4-5 years ago.
When she started, she just thought she should draw simple shapes on coffee.
Until one day, she was convinced by a friend to try something different.
And so the female barista currently living in San Francisco, USA began creating her own lovely latte creations.
To be able to make the best coffee picture, baristas need to mix the right amount of milk, coffee and foam.
According to Melaquano, this allows them to create the most beautiful colors and small details that are not lost on this "painting".
Initially, she uses a spoon to shape the picture, then uses other tools along with chocolate to sketch and draw small details.
Normally, Melaquino will take about 3 - 5 minutes to complete a painting.
Right from the beginning of her experiments, her works created excitement for customers.
Many people are willing to stop by the cafe every day just to admire new works.
Melaquino's fan base on social networks is equally large as there are currently more than 24 thousand followers of this female barista.
To meet everyone's needs, Melaquino opened a small class to educate those who like painting on latte.
