Steps to make delicious filter coffee properly

prepare materials

Step 1: Rinse the filter and press the coffee powder

  • Use boiling water to rinse the coffee filter. This will help reduce the amount of heat the filter absorbs. When making coffee, the filter will receive enough heat to produce more fragrant and flavorful coffee drops.
  • After rinsing the filter, put coffee powder into the filter (ratio 1/3 coffee and 2/3 water). Use the coffee grinder to tamp the coffee a little tighter.

Notes on compressing coffee:

  • Note that when compressing coffee, you should not compress it too lightly or too tightly. Pressing the coffee slightly will make the coffee flow faster, the coffee powder will also rise and look unsightly, and the taste of the coffee will be of poor quality.
  • If you press it too tightly, the coffee will have a hard time coming out. Sometimes this process also requires some experience and familiarity.

Step 2: Brew coffee

  • Pour boiling water into the filter lid and place the bottom of the filter on it so that the coffee powder absorbs all the water on it.
  • After the water is absorbed, you will pour the boiled water over the coffee (about 20%) and wait about 15 - 30 seconds for the coffee to absorb the water above.

Step 3: Brew coffee

  • Continue pouring in the remaining 80% and wait for the coffee to fall.

Note in making coffee:

  • Observe the cup of coffee, if the coffee drips every second, your chances of success will be great.
  • However, for pure coffee, the dripping speed will be faster. Don't worry too much about this issue.

Step 4: Process and enjoy

  • If you add sugar to your coffee, you should use granulated sugar or rock sugar, which is better than white sugar.
  • You should beat the sugar before enjoying and remove the ice. If it's iced coffee, you should drink it before the ice melts.
  • If it's milk coffee, add 30 - 40% milk and beat well until it foams.

Note : Tip for making delicious and rich filter coffee, you should add 1-2 grains of fine salt to the brewed coffee cup. Because if you do so, you will reduce the sour taste of pure coffee. Finally, enjoy your results.
